Pregnancy and Back Pain
Prioritizing a Conservative Approach

Always first try conservative treatment options. This may include exercises to support the muscles of the back and pelvis. Sometimes supportive garments and braces can be helpful. Treatment of aches and pains might include local massage and brief application of moist heat or cold applications. If your low back pain persists or you develop radiating pain, numbness, tingling or weakness in your legs, you should consult with a spine specialist who has expertise in women's health issues and/or pregnancy related disorders.
